Some sad news - Pat Robertson died last week. Pat completed 11 crossing between 1994 and 2017. We have fond memories of her wit - and ever changing hair colour! She was cared for in her last few months by friend, and Challenge companion on all of her crossings, Julia Hume and Julia's husband Tom.A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday 27th February at 1.45pm at Northumberland Woodland Burial and Crematorium, Bockenfield, Morpeth, NE66 9QJ followed by a gathering for refreshments at the Northumberland Arms in Felton close to the Crematorium. Newtonmore Hostel - now available for TGO Challenger bookings 13th-16th May.We don't yet have a buyer for the the hostel so can now offer beds in 4 or 2 bedded dorm rooms at £25 per person or camping on our lawn with use of the hostel facilities for £10 per person. Cowal Way closure at GlenbranterThere has been extensive damage in the forest south of Glenbranter. We have been in touch with Forest and Land Scotland who provided the map and photo below. They hope to have repairs in place by May but this cannot be guaranteed. This post www.facebook.com/ronnie.reffin/videos/1382182609316584 (thanks to Emma W for finding it) makes clear the extent of the damage to the track but the area is also badly affected by windblown trees.
